What’s Included with Every AgriBilt Building

Each building ships with curved 2′×10′ steel panels, all hardware, weather-stripping, and state-stamped engineered drawings for your location. Panels are built from 50,000-yield AZ-55 GALVALUME® steel, a 55% aluminum and 43% zinc alloy that delivers seven times the corrosion resistance of standard galvanized steel and performs well in all climates.

Each panel has a 7-inch deep corrugation with small cross-corrugations for added rigidity. Panels overlap with a square-lip seam that tightens when bolted and forms a leak-resistant shell. Bolts sit on flat panel surfaces for a cleaner seal, and hardware includes JS1000-plated 5/16-inch hex-head bolts with corrosion-resistant washers and recessed heads to prevent leaks.

If you plan to insulate your building, AgriBilt offers fasteners that mount to the arch bolts and pierce fiberglass batts, locking them in place with a protective cap. Spray-on insulation can also be applied directly to the steel panels.

Available options include framed openings, sliding or overhead doors, vents, skylights, windows, insulation, and endwall configurations. For the complete component list and technical specs, see our quonset hut kit page.

From Navy Icon to Modern Steel Building

The Quonset hut was originally designed for the U.S. Navy during World War II, developed at Quonset Point, Rhode Island as lightweight military housing and storage that small crews could raise quickly anywhere in the world. Thousands were sold as surplus after the war, and the iconic arch profile has been a popular choice for farms and businesses ever since. Today’s AgriBilt huts keep the arch strength that made the design famous, but they’re manufactured with modern GALVALUME® steel, engineered to current building codes, and customized to your site, a very different building from the military surplus huts still traded online.

USA-Made Kits, Engineered for Your Zip Code

Build It Yourself

Steel Barn Buildings
  • Pre-punched arches: Every hole is drilled at the factory, so there’s no field measuring or drilling.

  • One bolt size: the entire building uses a single 5/16″ JS1000-plated bolt, so one socket does the job.

  • Flat bolt seating: Bolts tighten onto flat panel surfaces for a cleaner, leak-resistant seal.

  • Square-lip panel overlap: Each arch overlaps the next with a square-lip seam that strengthens the arch and locks panels together.

  • Deep corrugation: 7-inch panel depth and small cross-corrugations increase rigidity and make each arch stronger as it’s erected.

  • Basic tools only: Most installs use an impact driver, socket set, ladder, or scissor lift, and a helper or two.

  • Clear manuals: Step-by-step instructions with photos and fastener schedules included.

Popular Uses Across the U.S.

Farm & Equipment Storage | RV & Boat Cover | Garage & Workshop | Commercial Warehouse | Hay & Grain Storage

From agricultural machine storage to garages for large trucks, the clear-span arch interior fits uses that conventional prefabricated buildings with interior posts can’t, some owners even finish them as homes and housing.

FAQs

Generally speaking, base shell pricing runs $8–$16 per square foot, depending on width, length, gauge, local loads, and accessories. Endwalls, doors, insulation, and site prep are separate line items. We do not post fixed price details because it depends on what you need. Please call us to get a direct quote.

Surplus and used huts sold online rarely include engineered drawings, warranty coverage, or panels rated for your local snow and wind loads, and missing or corroded steel members are common. A new AgriBilt building costs more up front but arrives code-ready, mill-warranted, and engineered for your site, which usually saves money on retrofits, permits, and repairs.

Most customers use AgriBilt’s floating foundation design, a concrete slab with a small thickened perimeter, typically 16 inches deep and 22 inches wide, that requires no deep excavation and keeps concrete work affordable. Grade beam with piers, pier-and-beam, and gravel pad systems also work depending on your site. Anchor points are set into the concrete per your engineered drawings. See our full guide to quonset hut foundation options.

Most AgriBilt buildings ship fast, but delivery timing depends on your location, model, size, and current production schedule. Once you request a quote, we’ll confirm the timeline for your specific building and location. Contact us for the most accurate lead time.
